FDA warns about Hand sanitizers!
With the emergence of a new deadly virus, the fear of getting infected is unavoidable. It is making people seek several ways to keep themselves safe. Hand sanitizers being the most sought out one. It has now become a daily household essential product. But knowing about its constituents & the safety of it is an important factor. FDA recently issued a warning about certain hand sanitizer products. Mostly containing ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, but have tested positive for 1-propanol contamination. According to the FDA, 1-propanol is not an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitizer products. Especially the ones marketed in the United States. These can be toxic and life-threatening when ingested. Young children who accidentally ingest these products are most at risk. Severe side effects include confusion, decreased consciousness, and slowed pulse and breathing.
